"Iddio" is an archaic, literary Italian word for "God" — a variant of "Dio." For a security gatekeeper that sits between AI agents and your infrastructure with absolute authority over what passes through, the connotation felt right: the omniscient arbiter that sees all and judges every request.
That's why we chose this name.
We also asked Claude what Iddio could stand for as an acronym. Our favorite: I Don't Do Irresponsible Operations. We liked that too.
